This new certification program has been designed for key volunteers, event producers, and special event directors. This certification program can be used to help identify individuals who have specialized in a particular area of Race Management”, said Gregory J. Evans, President & CEO of Race Director University.
The Associate Race Director Certificate guarantees a level of leadership and development in key areas of Race Management,
Public Safety, Liability, Supervision of Volunteers, Public Relations, and Risk Management. Whereas the other information in the three-day curriculum is necessary, these five components are essential and are mandatory for the Associate Race Director Certification. Continuing Education is offered and recommended for this newly developed program.
The new Associate's program is scheduled for Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st, 2018.
The cost is $425.00, and it also includes online content for this program. Registration is only available online at Race Director University. The Associates Certification program is a part of the Live Seminar training and will not be available online.
Road Race Management is a non-regulated industry. There are no academic degrees offered to signify an individual as a “race director.” These individuals are often present and former runners, coaches, and fans who, at best, took their interest and developed a business. While “individuals” per se, can’t go out and create another professional sports enterprise like the NBA, MLB, NFL or NHL they can, through our support, learn how to develop their business venture, directing races and producing special events in their communities.
Race Director University will become a national leader educating and certifying race directors in the running industry.
The mission of Race Director University is to increase professionalism in the road race management industry by certifying race directors after taking them through a formal instructional learning environment with established academic strategies, practical applications, experiential process, continuing education criteria and e-learning.
The goal of Race Director University is to elevate the running industry’s core of race directors, newly hired race directors and prospective race directors from local, regional, state and national clubs, parks, running clubs and event and race management services who will enroll in classroom and online race management instruction.
"Talent is everywhere; it only needs an opportunity." This manifesto is borrowed from Kathyrn Switzer, a groundbreaking marathon runner who registered for the Boston Marathon by signing her name as K.V. Switzer because women were prohibited from running, ran and completed the Boston Marathon the first female to do so in 1976.
This statement resonates with the idea that anyone who believes in the American Dream, despite these challenging economic conditions, anyone can succeed through education, a commitment to hard work and tenacity.
Since 2016 we have become an expert witness for a law firm and personal injury attorneys seeking a remedy for their clients. Producing a sporting event and special event where participants in running, walking and marching in parks and the streets required a degree of knowledge about communications, risk management, legal liability, safety, and security.
All too often there are areas in on these courses that may potentially cause
